Both AD's seem agreeable to keeping it the way it is from what I read in the paper. $5 mil per game has a way of encouraging that.

That might be political speak though. Out of curiosity, I just did some rough math for the A&M side of things.

30,000 student tickets @ $50 each: $1.5 million
50,000 regular priced tickets ~$85: $4.25 million

That's $5.75 million for an A&M home game, but that's also not taking into account concessions in the stadium, parking $$$, and a boost to the local economy for hotels/restaurants/gas stations/merchandise sales/etc. Of course, with a home and home you essentially need to divide that total figure by 2 to account for playing the away game the following year. I'm sure the $5 million is appealing but I think the real draw is an excuse to get a week's worth of PR in the DFW market.

I know a decent # of A&M fans (including myself) that aren't big fans of the prices associated with a game at JerryWorld. I went once just to have that experience but I'd much rather host you guys at Kyle Field and get a chance to road trip to y'all's stadium than continue playing there.

Actually, the paper only had quotes from aTm's AD. Long declined comment as noted at the end of that article.
