I actually agree with you R2R - traditions do seem to be taking a backseat the last few years - but the SEC would lose a TON of cash if the big rivalry games didnt happen anymore.

will be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

Here's one way that can be fixed... if your conference "rival" is in the opposite division, just schedule them out-of-conference in those years that you do not play them in the conference rotation.

Now a coda to this should be that when scheduled OOC it does NOT count as a conference game (I had enough of the extra, easy Vandy win Bama used to schedule as an extra game every year). Everyone must play the same number of OFFICIAL conference games.
