Walk-on dies during conditioning drills last Spring/summer. Autopsy revealed he had the Sickle Cell trait which lead to his death.
When we were told that we would have a lawsuit back in January, our AD backed our coaches saying that we followed all rules and procedures. At the time, the lawyer said that he would sue us for $10 Mill. The lawsuit now doesn't state any dollar amount.

That is unfortunate. How does an athlete make it through high school athletics going undiagnosed, let alone college?
A decade or so ago, there was an athlete Nutt was recruiting in Arkansas who was an excellent football player before being diagnosed with sickle-cell forcing him to quit playing before his senior year. The background was similar in that sickle-cell was common in his immediate family which caused the physician to check the kid during his yearly physical.
