Aubies help me out.....

I've been told for years how Auburn fans knew they were cheating the times they got caught and just dealt with it.
They didn't make excuses and try to defend the "family" the way the Bammers did/do. They just took their punishment and moved along.
This is not the cry coming out of Lee County right now.
Truth be told, the Auburn program has never had a successful run without being tainted by some sort of cheating. 1957 they were on probation. Dye's run in the 80's was tainted by Eric Ramsey and his pay for play. Tubby's run of the 90's is about to go up in flames. At least those disgraces waited a few years. War Cam Eagle didn't even make it to December before the crap hit the fan.
This will draw the usual responses of "da Bahr cheated" and the fact that Bama's compliance department was a joke in the 90's under Stallings and Dubose.
The fact is the bar is set too high for Auburn. They are forced to keep up with arguably the greatest program in college football history in a state that just can't support the two programs.
If they really were in West Georgia, they would be one the top programs in the nation year in and year out.

well I understand now why *U played so well against Bama. I thought it was just b/c of the rivalry.... but it seems $$$$ was the real motivating factor for *U players.

Has nothing to do with your post. I also remember you guys having to vacate wins after your 92 championship

yes.... but honest programs such as Bama self report and take the punishment like men.

that would be relevant if we were ON probation for paying players.
our probation was extended over some f'king school books. ;)

You do know there is zero talk of BAMA having cheated to win it or possibly vacate it...right?

You self reported because you were on probation from the early 00s

What was the probation originally given for?

Let me slow this down for you.
My point was Auburn's success is always tainted with NCAA troubles. Bama, not so much. And, like other posters pointed out, the only reason we were on probation is because out compliance department did such a great job.
Yes, in 1993. I covered that in the original post.

No no... you're right. It shouldn't have happened. My gripe is that like only a freaking small handful of football players were doing it, and it extended our black eye.
but in all fairness, auburn fans can't take punishment at all. they blame everyone for what's going on.

I'll take it even slower for you... every time you win... you cheated. The NCAA agrees with me. See what I did.
