No, I get that they're symbolic (I think every campus has some sort of nostalgic object that fans rally around. UGA has the chapel bell, north campus, the arches, etc.) and that they carry a priceless amount of sentimental value for most folks. I get it, I'm not saying I don't sympathize wholeheartedly with the loss (temporary or not) of the two trees. But where I differ is in the lengths that some (on both the Auburn and Bama sides - but mostly with this particular Bama contingent) are taking to feel as outraged and upset over this as possible. I can certainly appreciate the Bama side wanting to show their respect and good will toward Auburn, and I can appreciate Auburn being pissed off and upset over what happened, but IMO things are being exaggerated a bit
