quote:2500$ Is what Auburn estimated though. Sounds like they dont intend to dig up the soil, as spike 80df is not hazardous to human health. Some booster will probble donate some trees and get his name on a plaque

Anyone that thinks this will only cost $2500 when it is all said and done is crazy. The are digging trenches to put liquid charcoal in the ground to try and soak up the poison. Once the trees die, all the soil will have to be removed along with the trees and the entire area will have to be remediated. The will include removing the brick walls in that area, the curb, the sidewalk, and possibly part of the street. An HDPE separation will have to be put down, then all of the soil replaced. Full size oaks will probably be put down and they are not cheap. Then all of the infrastructure will be put back. $2500??? No way.
ETA: I do not think Bama fans should pay for this. Harvey should. Thanks for the classy gesture and funds donated so far.

I believe the statute against Updyke stated $2500. Not the actual cost.
