Neyland downsized a few years ago and when they found out that Bryant Denny would surpass them, they went with a "stadium capacity" instead of a "seating capacity"
quote:
Before the start of the 2010 season, UT added about 1,800 seats to what is called the west side terrace. Simply adding that to last year’s listed capacity would give UT a 101,811 capacity, or 10 shy of Bryant-Denny’s new capacity.
Bud Ford, spokesman for UT athletics, said the plan all along was to switch Neyland's official capacity from "seating capacity" to "stadium capacity" when the five-year renovation project was finished. A stadium capacity includes every person in the stadium from souvenir and concession workers to ushers and security, whereas a seating capacity lists just that, the number of seats in the stadium. The change was not done to ensure Neyland stayed larger than Bryant-Denny, Ford said.

No, a few minutes, but I do have a life and had other things to do.
But I thought you might like the facts. Or maybe not. Just go on living in you little dream world.

Nice quote from Ford BTW. It actually doesnt make any sense because the capacity will be 102,5?? I know for a fact there are far more than 700 workers in the building. I love how Bama wants to have a seating capacity war 10 years after we let Michigan have it.

I don't see Coach Moore changing out capacity from the true seating capacity to stadium capacity to include the janitors, etc.
Maybe we should.

I dont see us doing it either. I see an Alabama article with no quote.

It doesn't need a nickname, but if it was given one The Graveyard could be one considering the stadium is next to a graveyard. That would of course be second to Harvey's House though.
