This is not a flame at all but an honest question. What makes people think you guys have a chance to be so good, i.e. #1 preseason, next year? From my admittedly not fully educated perspective you still don't have an established quarterback, you just lost your most productive offensive player and if I'm not mistaken you lose your three best players and leaders on defense. I'm sure there are young talented players behind those guys but Sheppard, Peterson, and Nevis are not going to be easy to replace.

Ford and that other RB are probably good places to start.

They will have a New QB and New OC.
That's the recipe for success

Our weakest link will be fixed (qb)
we are stacked with freshmen who made big plays
we have some of the best skill players in the country

Jefferson is LSU's established quarterback, and things clicked for him again the 2nd half of this season
Losing Ridley doesn't mean much for LSU, there are guys with more talent behind him
LSU played 5 freshmen in the secondary that showed a ton of promise.

Yeah really. Most of the players that made a significant impact in that game will be back next season.
Lolz Really? Because yeah no one should ever touch Bama Roll Tide

So your beating of a vastly inferior team this year is your basis for your success next year? Like the bama fan said if that were the measuring stick bama would be the undisputed #1.

Every Olineman on the 2 deep is back but Barksdale. We have a stable of RBs, always do. We have RR and RS back at WR, plus some very good young guys in boone, wright and jarvis landry coming in. Peterson and Clement back at TE. All FBs are back. All QBs are back plus Zach, and a new OC.
On D we only lose PP, KS, Nevis, and Pep (DT). Our secondary gets Brandon Taylor back, plus we have alot of depth there. LB depth is a question but 2 returning starters, with Chavis here, LBs should be solid. DL is getting Montgomery back plus, Edwards, Aghyere, Brockers, Downs, and Mingo, DT depth is a question.
I dont see many LSU fans saying we SHOULD be #1, but we think we have a shot at a very good season.

With all due respect do you really think he is ready to lead a team to a national championship? Most other LSU fans are praying he won't even be the quarterback.

And Nevis was a really good player, but c'mon man LSU is loaded to the brim with stud defensive linemen

A Vastly inferior team come on man take your SEC Blinders off Texas A&M is a good team and will be top 10 preseason team next year. So, we lose some key players next year, but when you consistently bring in top 10 recruiting class's your going to have players step up and contribute just like in the Cotton Bowl. We will have a better Secondary, will be good at all skill positions. QB play will keep improving, running backs are legit. The only thing you have to worry about is the leadership qualities these guys have. So, if you paid any attention to LSU at all this year you will know we will be better next year. You need to worry about how your going to finish at least 500 without Scam Newton.

Dont forgot Miles won a NC after losing: Purple Drank, Landry, Bowe, and Davis in the first round.

as an Auburn fan, remember Jason Campbell before his senior season? He had showed some flashes but was inconsistent, but then put it all together in his last year.
