Also, the Grove is very DIFFERENT from what everybody else does, which either confuses or frustrates the simpletons in your fanbase to go "WELL THIS SUCKS!!11" because you can't comprehend that people really fricking enjoy doing shite in a more unique manner or, at least, a manner different to you and your peers.

I actually don't agree with this at all. It's the same lame cheesedickery seen at every other southern campus on a more congested scale. Swoop bang tards, sundresses, imitation sunglasses, flasks, heels, flip flops, and gameday ties. There's nothing terribly original there and the same thing goes on at every southern school from D-III on up. Ole Miss may have a higher per capita occurance of said douchebaggetry, but it's far from unique.

And yes, I've been part of said douchebaggetry since my days as an undergrad frat, so I can cast stones.

The thing that kills Ole Miss, to me, is that there's no cooking allowed. No, I don't cook every game, but part of the tailgating is the food. Boxed in fried chicken and finger food doesn't do it for me EVERY time. I like a little variety.

Bonus points to Ole Miss for the bar setups I've seen in the Grove though, that shite is kinda cool.

There is cooking, just not in the Grove itself. Go along the outskirts or along university avenue and you'll see smokers and such set up. You're not allowed to have open flames over grassy areas in the grove. Dripping grease, charcoal ashes, etc KILL the grass and trees in the Grove, so they're naturally very cautious about that.

The cooking's there, it's just in very specific places and nowhere near the scale of what's done at LSU. (deep-fried alligator, anyone?)
