Our fans that think doing away with Colonel Reb is going to bring Ole Miss an SEC championship are being hopelessly naive at best, and at worst, disingenuous. The collapse of Ole Miss football started in the 1970's and, unfortunately, has never recovered. Thanks to several incompetent leaders like Porter Fortune and Gerald Turner, the other SEC schools made massive improvements to their athletics infrastructure while Ole Miss sat idly by.
Blaming the shortcomings of our athletics programs on Colonel Reb is the biggest crock of shite that has ever been told.

Get. It. Through. Your. Thick. Skull. That. This. Is. Not. Entirely. About. Athletics.

It has more to do with academics than it does athletics. How so many of our fans somehow miss that is so damned frustrating.

This.

And we aren't saying that getting rid of Col. Reb will bring an automatic SEC championship. What we ARE saying is that it creates a much easier road for us with all of the negative recruiting that's going on.

Right. All of those alumni that are going to be donating because we have a new mascot. I anxiously await my next newsletter from the University of Mississippi Foundation confirming this claim.

You're the one that claims the reason we didn't have a PBK chapter was because of the rebel flag, right?
