It seems that Auburn officials are pretty confident in the case. The key words "Unfortunately" is important when said "Unfortunately, we can not speak on that matter" makes me feel better. To me, it says that they wish they could say why they aren't in trouble, which the NCAA won't let them do at this point.
Cam Newton resists temptation for money could be a nice segment added to his Heisman story. I can't wait until all you haters bite your tongue.

I think you are way over-reading the word "unfortunately" - and definitely spinning it to mean something positive when the opposite might be true
I can't see any rational reason why Auburn couldn't be more forthcoming if they didn't have anything to hide - someone help me out here

Wow is that a rosy view of the situation - IMO his candidacy for the Heisman just went from slam dunk to highly unlikely. And the idea that someone was asking for money on his behalf without him (or his father) doing part of the asking is kinda

Keep saying that over and over and soon you may start believing it.

Do you actually think he'll even be considered for the Heisman with this investigation looming after the Reggie Bush incident?
No way, No how, the media will jump on this like stink on shat!

Given Newton's previous record, I seriously doubt this story helps him in any way.
