Really? Having a unique culture, with world-class food, distinct music, and a lot more places to party makes this a slam dunk win for Louisiana.

Heck, you can have more fun in NOLA alone than in the entire state of Alabama.

Louisiana's unique culture is why tourists like to visit it, but wouldn't want to live there. I love NOLA on a once a year weekend trip, but would die before I moved there.

Again, I'm not bashing Louisiana. I'm just saying that it is no better than Alabama.

I'm not trying to be mean here, it's just that Alabama doesn't stand out from it's neighbors. The line between Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, and Florida is blurred. Same food, same music, nearly the same accents...

True statement.
I love how Louisiana has all the characteristics of the traditional South + lagniappe... a little something extra

cheers to my coonass friends

The problem is getting people to visit Alabama and come away thinking they've accomplished something.

One Bible Belt state is pretty much like another. North Louisiana is like that. If I could gerrymander state lines, I'd have a state that hugged the Gulf Coast...now that'd be a state!

You can do anything in Louisiana you can do in Alabama. The reverse is not true.
