Based on last week's performance, I was going with Ole Miss on this one. The Rebs are definitely showing improvement. Initially,I had them picked in the Pick'em. Then, I remembered Hootie's performance against Kentucky when he was coaching at Arkansas. We were 2-3 against Kentucky during that time. We won in '98 (by 7 pts.) in L.R. and in '03 at Lexington in the record setting overtime game, 71-63. Of the 3 losses, the worst was by a score of 42-29 in Fayetteville. This was with Hootie's most talented team in 2007. That may have been the game that sealed his fate with us. I gave this game a confidence rating of 1. Now I'm thinking Kentucky, but with Hootie, ya never know.

2007 was Kentucky's most talented team too. They spent most of the season ranked.

I probably would have gone with Kentucky on the pick em.
We've really been bitten by the injury bug. We'll be starting and playing freshmen everywhere on the field. We're definitely the more talented team, though.

Agree with you. This game has me perplexed.

Anybody who acts confident about what will happen in this game is kidding themselves IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if it was blowout either way or 3 OT's.

Interesting.
I've got a buddy who works for Huntsville Times Sports who has a prediction formula. The Formula predicted a 35 to 28 Ole Miss win.

That's true but of the 2 wins at Arkansas, one win was only by 7 pts. in '98, with a very talented Arkansas team. The other was in the '03 OT ...with Matt Jones.

Ole Miss has more talent and the game is at Ole Miss so thats why I predict them to beat UK. Ole Miss also has condifence in offense from dropping 55 on Fresno while UK is reeling after gitting stung for 48 against Florida at the Swamp.

There's certainly a method to hootie's madness. He never has enough talent on a team to straight up beat a Vandy or Kentucky. His players rarely come in fired up about the game, so they have shitty records against them.

Simply untrue. Plus we aren't starting freshmen all over the field.

Even in that loss, we managed over 350 yards against the Gators defense. We still had only 3 less first downs than them. They still only had the ball for about a minute longer than us. We just didn't capitalize. We started out slow, and let them run away. That wont happen against OM. If we racked up those stats against UF, we can do much better against OM.

Nothing would surprise me either. This game has to be the toughest pick for me. I want to see Ole Miss emerge from their funk, but as the saying goes... "I think I've seen this movie before".

According to recruiting rankings, the NFL draft, and past seasons it's true.

More talent doesn't lose to Jacksonville State.
