Saban's won the same number of championships as Paterno and Bowden and did it against MUCH tougher competition. The ACC was a bigger joke than it is now when Florida State went on that long run of consecutive top five finishes and Paterno was infamous for scheduling a bunch of patsy teams when Penn State was an independent. I do agree with you that Saban won't be coaching long enough to be in that class even though he's probably better than everybody but Bryant in terms of sheer coaching ability. I see Saban having a very similar legacy to John McKay by the time it's all said and done.
