Oddly enough, the oldest rivalry in the state of MS which is Hattiesburg High vs Laurel HS -battle for the little brown jug, is not even mentioned in the book. Pretty ghey.

I bought that book, and I was VERY Surprised that Magee vs Mendenhall wasnt mentioned as well. Hattiesburg and Laurel should have been in there as well. I had a friend in college who played at Laurel and he always talked about the brown jug.

I cant believe the book had Oak Grove vs Meridian, They have only played like 8 times and are supposedly the biggest rivalry in the State???

Thank you! OG and Meridian never even played until OG moved up to 5A in 2001. And even then there was no rivalry. It only became a rivalry in the last 5 years when the winner of that game usually won the division, and they met in the playoffs several times.

But you are right, not having Magee and Mendenhall on there is a joke.
