Wait just a second. I was out this weekend and the Hawgs start a thread about Nutt? I don't believe my eyes...

lol @ anyone who believes that ridiculous story about someone dropping trash out of a crop duster on a house. I have a friend who went to Ole Miss and have been down to Oxford enough times to know that most Ole Miss fans are not dumb enough to actually believe something like that

RebFeBrees = trollin'

agree

I'd be surprised if 8+ wins happened but it's possible

No, I don't see it. 8 would have to include a bowl win IMHO

SLC started it Re: Hootie Dale and Ole Miss.

Read the OP. There's nothing negative. Re: the trash being delivered to Hootie's house via "crop duster" methods... Just think about it. When I was in school at Fayetteville, I do recall seeing one out at Drake Field but I can guarantee you that anyone considering a "trash bombing mission" in that area would more than likely not live another day to tell about it. Fayetteville is not a well suited area to play games with airplanes. If Hootie's daughter did say this happened, it came straight from the butt. It makes a good story for the less discerning. I could see that happening. I've pulled a couple from the butt in my day as well. Who hasn't?

Re: Ole Miss in 2010... I'd be willing to guess that the Rebels will do OK but I don't think y'all will beat us this year. Seven wins is my prediction.

There is very little doubt that Hootie has recruited better at OM than he did in Fayetteville.

On the otherhand, Petrino has done a better job of recruiting to Fayettenam than Hootie did.

agree with the first... as for the second?

Dunno... of the sizeable Arkansas fan base obsessed with bashing Nutt half want to blame him for recruiting poorly and the other half want to blame him for underachieving with all the talent they had

Never have understood how those two faults went together

I can agree with this. As for pulling things from your butt, prayers sent

My $0.02. It wasn't that he recruited POORLY on the whole. He recruited some absolute studs to Fayetteville. Of course, a majority of those guys would have come here regardless. But that's beside the point. The problem was getting his signing classes on campus and keeping them there. We constantly had to plug holes in the depth chart with freshman. That's my biggest gripe.

As for underachieving with talent available: I've always thought he misused the talent he had. i think you saw it again this year at OM with McCluster. Not saying he had a BAD year, but he could have been better utilized. Same could have been said for Cedric Cobbs, Matt Jones, Gary Brashears, Robert Johnson, Darren McFadden, Felix Jones, Peyton Hillis, Mitch Mustain, etc, etc, etc.

which is fine... you have an opinion (he underachieves with the talent he recruits even tho he recruits pretty well)

I think I just read too many Ole Miss/Arkansas threads over the last couple years... all the Nutt obsessing made my eyes bleed a little

See that text that I quoted? I'm merely giving one man's explanation.

I really on chime in when people start propping up Nutt at the expense of Arkansas or its fans. Prop up Nutt all they want, but don't try to make Arkansas look bad in the process. Just my honest opinion...

No, but I don't feel like reading through this thread. I simply don't get how Arky fans can hate him so much yet be so interested in what he is doing now. If I hated someone, I would be glad that they were gone. JMHO though
And please don't give me the "we are just warning you" stuff. TIA

Hmmm, guess I've always thought I was more impartial than maybe I am

Don't have any special hatred of Ole Miss, Arkansas, or Nutt. It's just seemed to me the venom directed at Nutt over recent years from Arkansas fans had crossed over from typical sports idiots to aberrant behavior. Not like Arkansas is alone with this type of thing... you see it with other fan bases to variable extents (e.g. UT/Fulmer, LSU/Miles, UT/Kiffin)

I've always followed Ole Miss. When Hootie transferred there, it really sucked because I had been hoping "Red Bull Eddie" might have some success. He let me down and then Hootie's hired. I admit, I have issues.

Yea, I won't this time. I get kinda tired of repeating myself anyway.

Now, now Febreeze . . . that's no way to treat visiting royalty - especially one that has graciously waived his minimum requirements for average board IQ so he could grace the Ole Miss miscreants with the bread crumbs of his wisdom . . .

Toddle off back to the car wash before you are missed. If you get fired, you DO understand that you'll have wasted those six years in Oxford entirely.
