These years do not coincide with your account of "modern era."

Wrong.....

59 - Syracuse won the AP and UPI

60 - Minnesota won the AP and UPI

62 - USC won the AP and UPI

So according to the logic agreed upon by the posters of Tigerdroppings (who has said that only AP and UPI titles count as national championships), Ole Miss has ZERO (0) national championships.

Alabama has 8 according to that criteria, tied with ND.

National poll championships in the SEC 1933–present 18: Alabama (8), LSU (3), Florida (3), Tennessee (2), Georgia (1), Auburn (1)
