Didn't we all hear this kind of talk last year? The QB is new and won't be as good (he was better). The offensive line lost 2 AA starters (they got better). They lost Glen Coffee (Ingram won the Heisman). It is not out of the realm of possibility that Nick Saban will be able to field a more than adequate defense.

I believe Saban lost 7 or 8 starters on defense after his first year and came back with a better defense as well.

Lorenzo Washington (Defensive Line)
These were Alabama's only returning defensive starters in 2008 (Saban's 2nd year). They were a quarter away from playing for a NC) with a much worse offense. That defense turned out to be pretty damned good as well. Keep telling yourself Saban won't be able to field a decent unit if you want to.

If you don't think Saban has good talent waiting in the wings to step in and play I don't know what to tell you. The truth of the matter is that on paper the majority guys stepping in are better than the guys they replaced.

And given what Saban brought in for the 2008 recruiting class, how could they not be better?

The point is that you guys have no idea what kind of defense Alabama will have but Saban has fielded very good defense under the exact circumstances previously. You guys are the same people who said Mcelroy would not be better than JPW and that the offensive would suffer a huge dropoff going into last season. The same people who ended up looking retarded when Alabama won it all. PLUS we are obligated to the National Championship if you didn't know.

Everyone needs to accept that Alabama is the Flagship Football Program of the SEC and the NC belongs there.

Where do you get that people think yall dont deserve the title????????....
As I watched the first game of the season I could tell Bama had a great team,alot like LSU 2003 with alot of leaders and played very hard and could very well win the title..Yall won it outright, great job, congrats all the way around..BUT..JPW was better..your running game and stellar D won the championship.
Next year will be harder, yall will not get yalls lucky calls and easy schedule,..NC dont just come every year, your not the only team with talent,speed,and discipline
