They also had more running backs with 1000 or more yards, more running backs with 750-1000+ yards, and they rushed just as much as SEC for the most part. I believe the difference was about 5 rushes a game when you compare the 2 conference. We had this debate when Heisman was around.
Yes Ingram is a great back and he was just as deserving as Gerhart, but Gerhart had less to work with.


This whole post is total bullshite.

The PAC-10 had better rushing defenses because they were playing PAC-10 teams. They had more 1,000 yard running backs because they weren't playing SEC defenses. The defenses Gerhart faced were not the best in the country... sorry.

Texas was supposed to be the #1 rush defense in the country when we faced them. Our running game destroyed them.

How many Championships does the SEC have IN A ROW?
