With 5 minutes left in the game and down by 10 (with all three timeouts) here is the play by play

1st and 10 at TENN 32 Jonathan Crompton pass complete to Kevin Cooper for 1 yard to the Tenn 33.
2nd and 9 at TENN 33 Jonathan Crompton pass complete to Jeff Cottam for 4 yards to the Tenn 37.
3rd and 5 at TENN 37 Jonathan Crompton pass complete to Gerald Jones for 8 yards to the Tenn 45 for a 1ST down.
1st and 10 at TENN 45 Bryce Brown rush for a loss of 1 yard to the Tenn 44.
2nd and 11 at TENN 44 Jonathan Crompton pass complete to Quintin Hancock for 7 yards, fumbled, recovered by Tenn at the Tenn 49.
3rd and 6 at TENN 49 Jonathan Crompton pass incomplete.
4th and 6 at TENN 49 Timeout TENNESSEE, clock 02:00.
4th and 6 at TENN 49 Jonathan Crompton pass intercepted by Ahmad Black at the Fla 26, returned for no gain to the Fla 26.

On the prior drive from our own 37 it took us 3:26 to run the ball 63 yards. How when we took it to the air with 5 minutes left was UT "playing not to lose". Based on the play by play and having watched the game sober yesterday, going to the air was exactly how to LOSE the game. With three timeouts left why didn't UT run the ball, score another TD, try for an onside or at worst kick off, put it on the defense to hold and use the timeouts to kill the clock and hope something happens on special teams or then at the very last resort go with Crompton to the air.

Saying Tennessee wasn't playing to win is just total bullshite. If anything, they went to the air too early.

I can see it both ways. I think the lack of no-huddle was what surprised us.

ETA: The only issue I have with your reasoning is counting on an onside kick. I don't know the stats but they can't be successful very often.

And for those who wanted to know what Meyer's exact Flu quotes were.

"It is a panic level of proportion I've never seen before," Meyer said. "My wife, with her great insight, said, 'Do you realize the swine flu and everything is hitting the Florida campus last week.' My gosh."

"We're trying the best we can, but it's real," Meyer said. "We go to the extremes. They get a separate dorm room for them. They get a separate hotel room for them. They put them right on whatever the flu stuff is. Our guys, our team doctors, they're on it as fast as you can get on it."

That's like whining when you have a player banged up from injury. Hey CUM our top two wide receivers are banged up, the guy who was supposed to be our starting center is banged up, our right guard is banged up. Didn't hear CLK use the injury excuse when we lost. In fact, I'm pretty sure that he praised UF's defense and Tebow. Classy way to win jackass. He just couldn't believe that he didn't get to run the score up and you can say what you want but people are questioning UF this week when last week they were saying that UF was going to murder Tennessee. We did better than everyone thought and there wasn't anyone watching that game that didn't think Tennessee had a shot until the last few minutes.

UT burned about 4 minutes going almost 30 yards to get to our 50 prior to the interception. This is what made me scratch my head.
