How are things looking for these guys to get in this year?

Ole Miss is still hoping several high-profile recruits qualify. Among them are offensive lineman Bobby Massie, defensive back Tig Barksdale, tight end Zaccheus Mason and defensive back Jamar Hornsby.

Do you think Nutt catches flack for letting Hornsby play this year?

Nutt will catch flack for recruiting him in general.

If he is found innocent, I don't see the problem. Now if he is found guilty, there won't be a problem because he won't be playing here anyways.

Not a done deal yet, but if he does, there's no doubt some fans will be displeased.

If he ends up being a beast, the majority of the fans won't care about his legal troubles. Sad but true.

Ok, next question. 24 are already there, that leaves one spot. Who gets it or who gets gone?

Yes especially if he continues to get in trouble or cause disruption amongst the teams chemistry. Even if he is an All American he will still be looked down upon by many for letting him play.

Is that including a couple of Grey shirts? Because if that is, then those will be counted towards next year. We also had 2 people join this past spring semester and that counts towards last year.

The whole recruiting/qualifying process is something too large for me to completely understand right now. I think I'm just going to keep my finger crossed and hope for the best.

And yeah, going back and reading, it looks like 3 did enroll in the spring, so the big guns should be ok to get in if they qualify.

I agree. I was just wondering what OM fans were thinking. Its easy for me to say b/c I'm not an Ole Miss fan, but I don't see how Nutt allows him on the team regardless of his legal status. Obviously he won't be on the team if he's found guilty, but if his legal stuff is still pending when the season starts I just can't see him being apart of that team.

We'll end up greyshirting several of the players and a one of them count against last year's #.

I've had classes with several players and I can tell you they really are some stand out people, and probably don't want anyone with a bad conscience like Hornsby on the team.

What do you mean? I thought greyshirts were counted in the year in which they sign.

Next year's number... we'll probably only sign 18-22 next year- hence why we only have 2 commits right now.

We also lost 3 schollys for 2010 due to the APR.

No, Greyshirts count towards next year.

REDshirts count towards this year.

A greyshirt is just like he isn't even a part of the team for a year. You could essentially greyshirt then redshirt and be here for all 6 years if you wanted to.
