Arkansas is much, much better IMO. Been to Fayetteville the last two times Bama has played up there, and both times it's been a blast - and the fans are great. "Stark"ville is the most accurately named town in America.

Fayetteville is a nice college town amidst rolling hills. Dixon St is a fun bar scene.
Starkville is a flat plain of horseshite.
As far as game day atmosphere goes, I'd give Fayetteville the nod, but neither school has a great tailgate. Arkansas has a nicer stadium and louder fans. State has a decent tailgate, but nothing spectacular.

Elaborate on this please.

What? Tailgating?
We tailgate well in Fayetteville, its just spread out all over the place because its hard to find flat surfaces that aren't covered by buildings. On the other hand, you can tailgate on a hillside overlooking the stadium covered in trees, or a big park on campus with a free shuttle, or by the baseball field, or right outisde the stadium. Its just spread out all over.
Dickson before or after a game, and the Friday night before, is great. Fayettevillians know how to have a good time, without becoming complete fricking assholes. We drink every night in this town, until the wee hours of the morning, but we can handle our liquor.
Inside the stadium? Well, we've got you beat on stadium, hands down. Our stadium is awesome inside, the concourses, the boxes, the club level, etc. We don't have annoying arse cowbells, and we average 20k more fans than you do.
Seriously, I don't mean to be a dick, but I don't really think there's much comparison to an objective observer.

One thing I can tell from this thread is that people make Starkville out to be way worse than it really is.
It doesn't need to be made out worse than it is.
It just sucks.
The best thing about Starkville is that it's only 20 minutes from Columbus and 50 from Tupelo.
Or close to Tuscaloosa.

Why the hell would State even be comparing to Arkansas.
Ole Miss is a better comparison, even though state loses.

He'll link it up.
They average almost 20,000 more a game.
Hell, even in 2007 when we had our worst season in 60 years and you had your best season this decade, Ole Miss still had a higher average attendance than State.
We only had 23,000 for the NW state game, too.

An upper deck does not give you a better vantage point than low endzone seating......just throwing that out there

Ole Miss catches alot of shite for having a high school stadium, but State's capacity is 8,000 less.

Yeah it is laughable small....

When OM expanded the SEZ, State's little brother syndrome kicked back in and they expanded as well.....

Yeah, State's stadium looks bigger than it is... If they actually built seating in the endzone it could be really big.
