nd you also only beat UF and Arky by a combined 3 points. So whats your point?

I cant stand when people pump themselves up by saying they had a strong finish last year and barely lost to a few teams (which apparently leads to predictions of a division-winning season) but dont acknowledge the fact that they themselves escaped a couple of games.

Sure last year Ole Miss could have been 12-1 with those close losses last year.. but they also could have been 7-5.

If we use Ole Miss' logic of a 7 points or less loss means it could have easily been a W that also means Spurriers record at SC could just as easily be 40-10 instead of 28-22.

It's the close loss factor.
ask Phil Steele about it.
We went -2, which means we'll do better next year.

Miss St. went +4 in close games in 2007, and then fell flat on their face in 08.
The law of averages, my friend.

Because statistical averages automatically equates to next seasons success?

Take a look at 'Bama 2006: 6-7; 1 win by 7 points or less; 4 losses by 7 points or less. So that means at -3 they should have had a much better record correct? Well in 2007 they had the same 6-6 regular season record but happend to win their bowl game.
