You must have found the shopping list for their next party. I know it's Houston's favorite

The Defensive line made it up as a nickname for themselves.
It has kind of spread to the rest of the defense.
Anytime someone makes a sack or tfl or big hit in the backfield they throw their palm perpindicular to the top of their helmet to mimick a dorsal fin.

I like this analogy.
Backfield=land
Defense=school of sharks

anytime they make a tackle in the backfield (which is a lot as we led the SEC last year) they become landsharks.

I thought they used to spread their arms out and ran around like they pretended they were flying? Was I just really drunk and imagined this?

I never thought I would say this (especially with LSU's recent success and Alabama's tremendous season last year), but I honestly think Ole Miss is the team to beat in the West next year. There are too many questions for LSU (How good JJ really is, defense) and Alabama (new QB, etc.) to pencil either in as the clear cut favorite in the West. IMO, Ole Miss is loaded w/ athletes. They may not be the best "football players" per se, but they are tremendous athletically. Plus, I really like that Snead kid. I think he is easily a Top 10 QB in the NCAA.

A dude on rivals has him listed as the #1 overall pick in the draft next year. He's only a junior.

I think the West is a toss-up between Bama, LSU, and Ole Miss.
Ole Miss catches both teams at home, and doesn't play Florida or Georgia from the east. LSU has to go on the road and play both games plus have to go play on the road at OM and Bama. Bama has to play GA i think, but only have to play Ole Miss in Oxford.
The schedule is the reason I think Ole Miss should win it next year.

seems logical. I think the only chance we have is to beat florida at home. this is going to be a key game for the entire season IMO.

Yeah, the Schedule pretty much spotted Bama and Ole Miss a game.
You win this game and you'll probably be in Pasadena to be honest.

This is critical, and why i would also agree OM is the team to beat in the west. Schedule sets up nicely, have a nice core-group of players returning in all the right positions. This is the year for OM to grab the bull by the balls.

How good is MO's replacement at LT? What year is he?

A little subpar. His name is bradley sowell he played a good bit at the end of the year when we were kicking arse. he's a 6'7"" white guy from my home county. He's a really smart player but isn't agressive enough. He caught a touchdown pass against state last year, but I don't know.
It's very possible that Bobbie Massie will start by mid season next year.

What you have to remember is that Michael Oher is a little overrated because he started every game from his freshman to senior year. He never played to his potential though. We're gonna take a loss there, but I'll wager it won't be as bad as yours.

With Fluker(fr) or Carpenter(juco), who knows? Experience is huge at that position, but ASmith was the best on the line as a true frosh.
You never know. Massie could be the best on the line this year. He drew raves from hargrave while he was there.
I'm hoping DJ will be a pleasant suprise.

He was a five star, but RT John Jerry is our best lineman.

The SEC is on a completely different level than Hargrave and High School. My guess is that Massie and Fluker will be too slow to handle the SEC speed rush this year. That shouldn't matter when we play you, though because you run a 3-4 defense that tries to take up blockers instead of penetrate.

You get a big fat FAIL for that assumption. Like SC, Ole Miss doesn't have the best football history behind it.. but occasionally showing some signs of brilliance and knocking of some of the upper-tier teams will make our chests swell and proclaim "there is another player in the SEC" Ole Miss will learn as SC has that one good season does not equal another.

It'll take a lot more than a new nickname for your defense and a decent QB to consistently beat the big boys of the SEC. Even when it looks like your team is primed and ready to make it to the SECCG.. there will always be an SEC team to stub your toe on (ie Vandy in '07 for SC)

Damn...that is HUGE for Ole Miss. I think we are generally screwed. We'll lose to UF, and have a hell of a fight @UGA/BAMA/Ole Miss. I know Ole Miss hasn't had much success at all w/ Alabama, but I remember they have played them extremly close the past few years. Ole Miss is a lot better than they have been, Alabama will drop off some from last year...game is in Oxford...this really might be the year for the Rebels to win the West. Even if LSU or Alabama were to beat them, I think they two might have more SEC losses than Ole Miss due to the schedule.
