Like Nutt or not he has looked good to Ole Miss fans. He has made the team competitive which they havent been in over 4 years.

I will agree with that. I'm one that believes Arkansas and Ole Miss both came out well in this deal.

Nutt has a laughable career road record, a deplorable record against the top 25, won the west twice in 11 years (both due to tie breakers), no BCS invites, a SEC record a tad over .500, and a bowl record of 3-6.

His resume should make most yawn and move on.

Regardless, his rah-rah BS is good for pulling a program from the gutter. He did it for Arkansas and he has done it for Ole Miss.

We now have Bobby Petrino and once Ole Miss grows tired of "church" and wants more than a Cotton Bowl they too will look for an upgrade.

Everyone is in a better position now.

I agree DC! They got a coach that will bring them up to Mediocre and we got a coach that will get us to the elite!

I think he is a good coach but lets evaluate this after this season until then there is nothing worth talking about. Another point I dont get is the Mallett factor. He has a cannon and has tons of potential but the guy has not done shite on the field that would make me feel overly optimistic as a Hog fan.

I dont get it

We have not had a QB like him. Ever.

We have had Matt Jones, the SEC All-Time Rushing QB, but never a QB with an arm.

Historically, we have had little success at the QB position. We have never had a QB throw for 3,000 yards.

Mallett is the first QB we have ever had with this much promise. A 6' 7'" QB that was #2 coming out of HS and a rocket launcher arm. Add to the mix one of the best offensive minds and QB developers at HC and you should see why we anticipate good things.

I agree, I am not buying into ark this year..
As for being relevant ever team you play is relevant, lose to one then say they are not.
Snead is a proven QB, if ya'll can protect him you will score a ton ..

Well, like everyone says, everyone has opinions. You guys have yours and we have ours. Football season is not till September and then we'll see. For right now all we can do is talk sh*t!

So the excitement stems from having a passing QB with the potential to air it out whenever neccessary. I can dig that but that brand of football doesnt always equal wins.

True...but the addition of a passing game helps. Something we've never had

Did you not notice that we have a coach that had the ability to beat Florida already?

God damnit how many fricking times are yall gonna bring this shite up? You and HawgAlude are the biggest fricking flamers on this board. You guys are worse than the gumps. frick off already, leave it alone. Nutt is 9-4 at OM. and 1-0 in bowl games. We both feel better about are situations. We will see what happens. until then

I'd say we kind of did with Stoerner... not 3000 yards maybe but 2000+ for 3 years in a row, I think.

Stoerner (or even Matt Jones) + McFadden + Jones + Hillis would have been awesome to see.

This being because Nutt was a run based coach I assume???? I am concerned after Snead leaves the direction of the Reb Offense. Maybe Nutt has learned from his past and will let Kent Austin keep calling plays

I'm just going to say this one thing... Arkansas fans loved him the first couple of years, too. I'm not saying he will fail but don't say we are a bunch of clowns when we've had firsthand experience.

That being said, who's to say Petrino will do great things here? We will just have to see.

Don't bet the bank on it! Nutt likes being in control. His Ego won't allow anyone having too much control.
Having a passing game can always open up the running game.
As far as you guys beating Florida, well you did do that, but Nutt always win a game he's not suppose to win. I don't think you'll beat them this year.

That would be a huge disappointment based on our expectations. Not saying it won't happen, but 8-4 is my lowest expectation.
