UGA's Rivals, LSU?

Doc brought up how us UGA fans thought of Auburn as a rival: Here's the scoop. Georgia has 4 close rivalries, and a 5th that is a "has been" rivalry. Depending on where you grew up in the state and family ties, etc. it varies on which rival one hates the most.
Georgia Tech
Florida
Auburn
Tennessee
& even CLEMSON!!!!
all UGA rivals
Personally, I despise Georgia Yech (note avatar)... but a lot of UGA faithful despise Florida. I dislike Florida a lot, but I don't hate them as much as Yech. I don't really see Auburn as a hateful rivalry like some do ... I guess it's because I really never encountered them or what not as I'm originally from Pennsylvania. My stepfather is a UF fan (went to school there for some time) so I guess my hate for them isn't as strong as it could be.
One could argue who UGA's biggest rival is, Georgia Yech or Florida. Realistically, it could go both ways. Here's how I rank them:
1. Georgia Yech
2. Florida
3. Tennessee
4. Auburn
Clemson isn't even on my list. And quite honestly, I don't even have any hate for Auburn.

that's interesting... I have no real reason to hate Auburn. What's their reasoning? Because it's relatively close to Georgia?

I'm with you on the Auburn. I dont hate them or their fans at all. Been treated well every time I have been to Auburn.
I hate the shite out of Florida. Mainly because they usually kick the shite out of us and the fun in Jacksonville ends before Saturday night even begins and I'm ready to get the hell back on 95 and go back home.
Tech is like the little kid that you beat the crap out of in school day in and day out and then one day he sucker punches you and then its back to beating the crap out of him again.

Hmmm, thanks.
The subject comes up a lot with LSU fans, since our old traditional rivalries used to be with Tulane, Rice, and Ole Miss, all of which have sort of cratered or tapered off.
Alabama is always a big game to us in football, but then Bama has its own rivals, and so does Florida.
It's always sort of hard to figure out where we fit into all this stuff. In the end, I think most LSU fans today just think that it would be nice to have a more clearly defined rival, but that it the end, just getting the W's against all the opponents you can is good enough.

That's the very reason I hate Yech. I guess you can call me the bully who hates the little guys. Their fans though is what truly drives me insane. They are very arrogant after beating us in ANY sport on the board, and they take every opportunity they have available to rub it in our face if they beat us, hell even in Women's Tennis (which we beat them this year and last year in). We pretty much own Yech in all sports, it's just their pathetic fans who irritate the shite out of me to make me hate them so much.
THWGT.

I somewhat figured since our rivalry is "the oldest" in the "deep south" or whatever.
I guess us UGA fans can be thankful that they hate us... hmm?

I wouldn't put Clemson in this. Its outta conference and they dont play each other every year in football or basketball.

I think UGA and AU is a nice healthy rivalry. I don't really hate UGA but I really really want to beat them. That hasn't happened in a few years :(

I was always under the impression that UGA and South Carolina were rivals. Am I wrong?

only time i have ever been escorted out of a game was at the end of the 05 game at Bobby Dodd when we beat them 14-7. Minter intercepted a pass from Reggie deep in our own territory to seal the deal and some Tech fan popped his mouth off while leaving and naturally i said something back and he tried to come after me. Got to walk to the exit with one of Atlanta's finest

They talk bad about us? WTF?!?? j/k ... what do they say if you mind me asking?
I'm actually surprised that SCarolina fans talk bad about ANYBODY. I'm not surprised though about the Teers, because in the end there isn't anything GOOD to say about them at all

some of the older UGA fans would say otherwise. Until the mid 90s, UGA and Clemson played every year and were back then considered a national rivalry.

Its mainly a rivalry to the older generation of Georgia fans...it's cooled off since the Mid 80's...I think the last meaningful game against Clemson was when Kevin Butler kicked the 60 yarder in Athens in 84(?) to beat them. I have several friends who graduated from Clemson though and there isnt that much of a rivalry at all from the younger generations.

Yeah, those 1980-83 games had to be pretty big.
