Watching Texas hang around with the Zags had me wondering about this. Tried to do a web search for "how many play in teams have made the sweet 16" but all I got were articles about this year's tournament.

UCLA was a first four team and they made the final four in 2021

They beat Alabama in the Sweet 16

Tennessee made the sweet 16 in 2014 as a play in team too

Looks like the First Four teams making it to sweet 16 or better have been:

VCU 2011 - Final 4
La Salle 2013 - Sweet 16
Tennessee 2014 - Sweet 16
Syracuse 2018 - Sweet 16
UCLA 2021 - Final 4
