Did Sumrall lower his ceiling as a HC by leaving Tulane?

At Tulane he was able to make it to a first round playoff game where he lost. That was his ceiling at Tulane. His floor there was the Gasparilla bowl.

I actually think Sumrall is a really good coach but until Florida fires Scott Stricklin and the rest of the UAA and hires Mark Pantoni and Ryan Stamper into the AD/UAA, sumrall’s ceiling at UF will be the Gasparilla bowl unfortunately.

Miami's rise back to national prominence started with an Athletic Director change bringing Univiersity of Miami MBA graduate Dan Radakovich back from Clemson.

Did you know two prominent members of Ohio States front office are Florida Gators very own Mark Pantoni and assistant AD Ryan Stamper.

The pieces to the puzzle are out there!

Will Florida go get them?

Why do UF boosters tolerate Stricklin? I've seen nothing but bad reviews about him on here.

Because they are Disney gators who love him.

He massages their egos and is breaking off some of the stadium renovation $$ with them by letting them into the operation with their LLCs and shell companies

They don’t care about winning that’s why they don’t play the nil game seriously like lsu and Miami, they just do enough (ie give losers like DJ Fagway a lot of money) to make it look like they’re trying when they really don’t

Just change your favorite team to Muami, and end the charade. You are an unsanctified charlatan.

I wish but I can’t root for them, they are one of the most insufferable fan bases in the nation, even though there are only 10 of them

But let’s be real, we wish our boosters were all in like there’s are. If we had those type boosters we’d be in the mix

They had a National Championship game in their home stadium. And it was 70% Indiana fans on Monday night. Vanderbilt level fanbase

I am no fan of Stricklin, but we did win the basketball national championship last year and overall have a solid athletics program. It's definitely not at its peak like it was under Foley, but truthfully, Foley's attitude about spending money is what started getting us into this whole mess. He thought being UF was good enough. The administration has also hamstrung Stricklin with a ton of holdovers from Foley's tenure. Luckily the worst of those in the UAA are have left or are in the process of leaving.

Stricklin's biggest weakness is that he isn't good at hiring football coaches, but even that is a mixed bag. The Mullen hire wasn't bad (3 straight NYE bowls), but he pulled a Brian Kelly and stopped caring. Napier was well thought of at the time of his hire, but obviously stunk it up and refused to adjust to the changes being made overall in college football.

Interesting info. Still a down-vote for a post without mention of 'Disney Gators'.
