It’s the next logical step. If a school has “equity” built up in a player either financially or developmental equity, they will eventually need to get some return on these guy burning all that in the portal. Unless big changes or made I think we will start hearing trade talks in the next couple of years. Especially how fast the “contract” dynamic is developing.

ETA. Not that I want it. It will be another tragic step away from amateur athletics.

If you pay them you should be able to trade them.

The future of college football.

Worked with a guy that was raised in the Barrio of East Austin. He would joke about all the mothers having yard and garage sales during the summer. The first couple of weeks of the new school year, all the kids would comment on who was wearing who's clothes from last year.

How long before the NCAA extends eligibility by a year, then another year, and then unlimited eligibility? It will be a professional league then that competes with the NFL, but with the advantage of college traditions and spectacle.

I don't know. I don't think they'll be able to get around the pesky concept of at least being enrolled in the school that they play for, but I don't know.
