So I had to break out the trusty calculator.... Today is as far away from 1/1/1940 as 1/12/1854 is. Sadly this means they are still in the Bleeding Kansas era of Franklin Pierce's presidency. On the good news front this time next year they will finally enter the Millard Fillmore era the last Whig party president. Also there are no two term presidents until they get to Andrew Jackson (1937) so they can make some real serious headway on the journey through American history.

Imagine going to a liberal arts school to get an English degree and still not know how to properly construct a sentence to get your point across.
