Tide Pride created SEC sports graphics and memes before they were even callled memes. As an example, TidePride created Barner Hell, which was a series of graphics, a few animated, that depicted Auburn fans in compromsing situations. OrlTiger responded in kind. They were actually internet friends, though I don't know if they ever met. TidePride passed away about 12 to 14 yrs ago. OrlTiger just fell off the face of the www world, though he may have just tired of the graphics and changed usernames.

They first started creating those "memes" on the old Alliance Sports, which included the original BamaOnLine and The Bunker. Alliance Sports busted in 2000. Orl Tiger also posted on Inside The Auburn Tigers board, and perhaps others.

Alliance Sports had the first drop down menu I ever saw on the www. You could click the drop down menu and go to the other SEC team boards, same as on this board. Will Woods was the owner/administrator of the Auburn board. So one night Woods was fighting off Alabama fans on the open Auburn board, and JR, a well respected poster on the Auburn board, suggested Woods "bunker down" on the Auburn private board. And that is how The Bunker came to be named. That was about 1997 or so.

yes, i remember the days of the old Alliance (which now that i think of it, it sounds like something Obi Wan would say)

sadly, I assume a lot of those posters have shuffled off this mortal coil - its been 25+ years now
