Yeah, on the one hand, it seems like a snub for the SEC Champs and probably the SEC team with the best chance of winning the playoffs, but on the other hand, it does speak to the all-around greatness of the team rather than the individuals.

I'm a big fan of "no name" teams. Every player knows he's important and contributes as much as the next guy. Builds team unity.

It speaks to the fact that players who play well as a team can be better collectively than a team like Texas that spends more to reel in 5 star prospects.

Bama and Georgia combined for 4 players to make first team All-SEC. One apiece on defense. No telling when the last time that happened was. Already been a strange season.

New additions to the conference cut into it some, 3 total on 1st team D from Texas & Oklahoma. Two good defensive teams.
