Is jimmy sexton the reason bama hired Deboer

Sexton obviously represents saban and Deboer along with many others including the entire gameday set. Sexton is a pretty powerful figure behind the scenes in college football. Having that connection is at least in some small way a benefit with the college football committee on ESPN. now you could say Alabama didn’t benefit they got left out last year when they could have been put in even with backlash. However that was coming off the fsu undefeated situation and two years in a row may have been too much even for them. But in the long term and potentially even today having that connection could be a powerful thing when it comes to getting the nod in playoff situations like this. I always thought bama hiring a pac 12 was an odd thing to do. But the more you look at all the connections behind the scenes I can’t rule out this possibility.
