I've always liked him. He has a lot of passion. He did a great job weathering the storms this year. Do you feel like he's truly the guy for the job?
My main knocks right now are offensive output and HS recruiting. You'll need Top 10 classes again

He needs to find his counterpart to coach the offense. Not sure if Arbuckle is the guy. Probably need a new TE coach and I'm not 100% sold on our WR Coach yet, but willing to give him another year recruiting.
He needs to take care of Bates, Hall, Chavis, Valai, Goodwin and Dreilling and keep them on staff. Our defense is only going to get scarier with this crew coaching the defense.
Our recruiting is OK. 2026 (depending on the service) ranks us 14th to 16th.
2027 Recruiting, we have the top class right now.

I've been anti-Venables from the day he was announced as HC but he is starting to win me over. He wasn't ready to be a HC, unfortunately had to learn some lessons the hard way, but I think he is starting to figure things out.
I'll be 100% on board with Venables if/when he cans this OC and his rinky-dink slow-developing RPO offense which probably worked great in the PAC-2, or convinces him to develop a pro-set offense. Either way, Venables really needs to clean house on that side of the ball.
