I know yall wont appreciate it bc it is LSU's AD but even if he wasn't I think it's an interesting insight into management strategies.

Its similar to when the accountants took over decision making away from the engineers are Boeing. Yes your profit will be much higher, but it can result in a catastrophic disaster. (Brian Kelly/Billy Napier)

1) He said he watched film on all of the candidates. He thought Lane had a rare talent for calling the right plays at the right time.. similar to Steve Spurrier, Nick Saban, Skip Bertman.

2) He did not ask Lane about coaching minutia. With a coach like Lane, you don't ask what his plan is on 3rd and 8. Maybe you would with a less proven guy.

3) Contrast this to Scott Stricklin/ Scott Woodward... bean counters. Sticklin apparently scared lane off bc he wanted too much control over his staff, like who is GM would be for instance.

Ok, but this board has always viscerally rejected the above notion.

I don't recall Bama having any problems the hhs play calls.

Only after he is no longer with Bama did you change your tone.

Ole Miss fans are saying the assistants ran everything and Lane didn’t do anything

Correct. I said "this board," not "Bama." Bama fans are a minority on here.

Really? I won't question your integrity, and I'll just assume you legitimately, somehow, missed that for Saban's entire run at Alabama, rival fans consistently and vehemently held that he was a mediocre to average X's and O's or gameday coach, and that his success was based exclusively on being able to out-talent everyone.

I mean yeah. But that doesnt equate to people in leadership.

CFB leadership across the board acts like they dont even watch the games

I missed it because it didnt happen.

maybe some rando triggered you back in 2015, but that doesnt mean it was a widespread motif.

This thread isnt about Alabama

I’m not trying to talk about Alabama. As a native speaker of the English language I feel obligated to point out obvious problems with your logic. I think I’ll sticks around a while longer to make sure you don’t keep fricking up.
