I feel like our defensive line isn’t very well coached and don’t have much technique. I don’t see Freddie Roach leaving, so why not bring in an NFL legend like JJ Watt (or some other recent big time defensive lineman) to maybe work with our guys for a week to improve their technique?

Obviously, Watt (or whoever) isn’t going to do it for free but it might be worth it to see improvement on the field.

My son-in-law is on the NCAA compliance staff at USCe and he says it could be done.

A lot of times former star players are not good coaches. I don’t hate the idea of bringing in a consultant for position groups, but ultimately if you don’t trust the coach of the unit, should he really be the position coach?

I feel like defensive line play has gotten better as the season has gone on.

I think it's the scheme mote than the coach. We want to get up field so you won't see the players use their hands as much as we are use to seeing. We aren't a stop the run on early downs team anymore.

That’s just it, I don’t think Freddie is a good technician as a coach. Good recruiter but he he really doesn’t develop guys. Unfortunately, I don’t see him going anywhere anytime soon.

Figure out a way to keep Roach for recruiting, maybe give him a job on the GM side. Bring back Bo Davis, Craig Kuligowski, or Karl Dunbar.
