Stoops buyout is $38M payable within 60 days of being fired.
Here's a thought. Fire him after the Tennessee game, and then right after Va Tech loses their last game in November, strike a deal to pay them $20M to hire him immediately payable over 4 years and we basically pay his salary there for 4 years and save $50% of the total cost of his buyout.
We can throw in Hamden for free.

I will add, it's a shame this series hasn't been more competitive for as long as it's been. Yeah, we have won 3-4 in the last 15 years, but that's still very onesided. Congrats for being that dominant. There have been some really heartbreaking close games. I wish this rivalry was more 50/50.

Agree on your post. I really enjoyed the ole beer barrel days. BigOrangeKen and I both are less than 20-45 minutes from the KY border. Along with Kat fans, there are OM, Bama and a few Arky and State Fans here. I makes it fun....
You guys gave Texas all they wanted. Its never easy playing at Kroger Fld. I just hope we show up

Pretty sure Stoops lost what little support he had after this past Saturday's coaching fiasco against the new UT. Wouldn't be surprised if half the stadium was old UT orange.
With it being the last day of the fall meet guessing many won't migrate to the stadium after the races. Why ruin a good day?

I am good. Wish we could get together. I have a couple of Tennessee fans around me. Good people. I'll be down in Gatlinburg area in a couple of weeks.
We struggle against good offensive teams, so I expect another L this weekend, but Boley is our future and I hope he continues to show improvement. Whomever we hire will have a solid qb to work witj.

You know ... I like Tennessee. I interned at ORNL. One of the most fun times of my life. If TVA would have give me a shot ? I would have stayed in East Tennessee.

I am really surprised at Mitch Barnhart. He trained for 12 years under one the best ADs in the SEC, Doug Dickey. Mitch just doesn't have the iron will of Dickey.

Honestly ? And I only get what I get from KSR - plus actually watching what they do - Barnhart is a Title IX Guy in a new environment.
He's wrapped up in the idea of "fair". Kentucky is paying SIX sports out of Rev Share right now. Football is getting less, they're steering dumb money at Basketball ... but Volleyball, Softball, and Women's Basketball are all getting a cut.
That's dumb. But that's Mitch Barnhart.
