Finish the season 5-1, 8-4 overall, with the only remaining loss coming against Alabama?
Or finish the season 1-5, 4-8 overall, with the only remaining win coming against Alabama?

the second option, but not for the reason you think
if AU falls to 3-8 going into the IB - which by definition would include a loss to FCS Mercer - Freezus would already have been terminated
for a 3-8 AU to come into the IB with an interim HC and potentially knock Bama out of the CFP (and have their fanbase screaming for DuBoser’s head) would be the ultimate hilarity for this AU Man
