Maybe I've missed it, but some teams are kind of getting hosed when it comes to playing teams coming off a bye. Here's what Alabama's SEC opponents have the week before playing Alabama this season. Half get byes. The other 4 all get home games, 2 of them vs. nonconference patsies.
@Georgia: BYE
Vanderbilt: Utah State
@Missouri: BYE
Tennessee: Arkansas
@South Carolina: Oklahoma
LSU: BYE
Oklahoma: BYE
@Auburn: Mercer
LSU is in a similar situation:
Florida: South Florida
@Ole Miss: Tulane
South Carolina: BYE
@Vanderbilt: BYE
Texas A&M: @ Arkansas
@Alabama: BYE
Arkansas: BYE
@Oklahama: Missouri
As is Georgia:
@Tennessee: ETSU
Alabama: BYE
Kentucky: @ South Carolina
@Auburn: BYE
Ole Miss: Washington State
Florida: BYE
@Miss St.: @ Arkansas
Texas: BYE
Meanwhile Oklahoma plays zero teams coming off a bye:
Auburn: South Alabama
Texas: @ Florida
@South Carolina: @ LSU
Ole Miss: @ Georgia
@ Tennessee: @ Kentucky
@ Alabama: LSU
Missouri: Miss St.
LSU: Western Kentucky

Been happening for decades.
SEC passed a rule around 2012 to limit the number a team would face, but the rule is not enforced.
Believe it was 2010 when we played 6 SEC teams in a row coming off of byes.
... but the REC controls the SEC office! Have to get it out of B'ham Pawl!!!!

Missouri schedule and their week-before opponents. One team coming off a bye, everyone else coming off a top 20 game.
South Carolina: Vanderbilt
Alabama: Vanderbilt

Every year we “hear”(read) who got screwed with byes/scheduling.
Nothing new.
Even the NFL has their gripes.
