Kentucky being the only team with open weeks 2 weeks apart is sort of a joke.

Between Tennessee and... bye?

You're thinking we'll get caught looking ahead to the bye week?

I'm thinking you don't know what a trap game is defined as.

I'm thinking you'll get a lot of emtional build up to the Tennessee game, as always.

I'm thinking you'll be coming off of 4 straight games, at UGA, Vandy (looking for revenge), at Mizzou who will give y'all a tough game this year. Then Tennessee at home.

Whatever the outcome of that Tennessee game may be, likely a win, then you'll come to SC looking ahead to the off week and a needed break.

SC will have just played at LSU and Oklahoma at home and we expect Oklahoma to be much better this year. We have at Ole Miss the week after your game ... so you're probably right, it's as much of a trap game for SC as it might be Bama.

Bama expects to beat SC .... SC always wants to beat Bama in The Cock Pit.

Bama is 7-3 vs SC since 1992. Avg score is 29.39 - 20.16. SC knocked off #1 Bama in Columbia in 2010.

Three Bama blowouts ... 1992, 2005 and 2019. All three Championship years for Bama.

One SC blowout ... 2010.

All the rest have been relatively close since '92.

Here's the point and it goes back to Bama's expectations. When SC has a good team with a winning record, the avg of games played have been one score or less .... because Bama expects to beat SC, as they do everyone else. Where, in truth, this series, based upon averages and especially games played in Columbia .... could be dead even since '92 but for one score going SC's way, on avg.

It's an interesting dynamic that I suspect has a lot to do with rabid Billy Brice crowds when Bama comes to town. It's a compliment to Bama's program in all actuality.

Nick Saban was 3-1 vs SC with a close win in Tuscaloosa (Spurrier 7-6), a big loss in Columbia (Spurrier 9-5), and the blowout in Columbia (Muschump 4-8).

I dunno, I'm probably overthinking it which I tend to do breaking down SC's schedule in my head the week before each season starts.
