Given they had one good year for the first time in a while last year.

Many people are picking them to Win the West next year. Keep in mind that last season was a rare year in which other western teams LSU, Arkansas, and Auburn were all completely down. Also, Ole Miss has not even had consecutive 8 win seasons since the 1961-1962 seasons.

i dont think its to serious. Nutt is good in what he did last year but i still dont believe he can do shite when expectations are high. also we will be better than last year that is pretty clear. LSU fixed its problems and arky will be better. They do have some key players coming back though. I just dont see them becoming what we are.

The talent will only decline no matter what Nutt does. Nutt is a pretty average recruiter at best and Orgeron stockpiled some nice talent for him. In 1-2 years when most of them are gone they will be going 7-5 or 5-7 every year.

You can believe what you want. If what Ole Miss did at the end of last season coupled with who we have coming back next year doesn't convince you, nothing will. Our recruiting class for this year gets better with each passing day.

All that said...I guess we'll see this fall.

don't forget who you lose. selective memory is a bitch. playing half a season is not impressive to me

here's the deal

houston nutt is a quick fix coach...he is the guy you want if your program is in the shitter and you need a sudden jolt, he's exactly what ole miss needed

but, he cant recruit and he cant manage a program to save his life...in short, he isnt a guy you want for the long haul

they might be good this year, and maybe next...but they will slowly start to fade away with nutt

So what does that mean... Our season will be a failure if we don't make it to Atlanta next year? We need an 8 win season and we need to continue to build.

Orgeron is not the recruiter many of you think he is. Most of the kids he recruits don't make it academically. I think i saw on a post a while back on here where O's recruits at Ole Miss averaged a 23 ranking while Nutt's at Arky's averaged 26. Not much of a difference

I find that hard to believe considering he had 1 top 25 finish in 10 years.

so this isn't the most talented Ole Miss the program has been in a long time? You are kidding yourself if you think Nutt is in the same ballpark as Orgeron as a recruiter. Nutt kept the few bigtime Arkansas products at home at Arky and signed some scrubs from Texas that he beat out Tulsa and TCU for.

Not too serious, put some ice on it and the swelling {of egos} should go down soon.

O had us headed for probation... And yes we have the most talent we've had in a while.
