One year riding the pine and one as a starter with middling stats..that in itself is criminal. Then leaving the Vols high and dry at the end of spring practice, leaving them less practice time to get another guy some seasoning for the fall. Whoever foot that bill has to be mad as hell. It is gonna be fascinating to see which team brings this guy in, knowing he’s going to pull this again next year.
I’d absolutely love to see the Underwood kid at UM pull this in a year or two just to hasten the end of this madness.

Bryce Underwood is from Michigan and they won a National Championship a year ago. Michigan’s NIL wasn’t as strong as it is now until this past recruiting class when they got their boosters to go all in like you see at most of the other major programs.

Like Nico, Underwood clearly picked his school based on the money. Nico’s initial offer was reportedly $8M and Underwood’s $10M. Once that is the driving factor, nothing prevents them from asking for more. If these massive paydays for kids not even graduated from high school continue to blow up in this way, the market will adjust. I would think teams would start throwing more money at transfer guys for a big $ number rather than wasting money on youngsters to sit the bench and then demand a pay bump.
The sad part is going to be when/if some gets Nico for a number higher than what he was getting at UT. It is going to se a really bad precedent.
