Strike zone question

Why has the strike zone called so inconsistently small over the years? It is ”Hitter beneficial” not “ pitcher beneficial”, Even when it is a legitimate strike.

Are the umpires taught to call this zone? Maybe they want more runs to increase views on TV?

They watch videos of the strike zone after the game and see the calls they missed. No one wants to be wrong, so they call a tight zone

The strike zone should be a little bigger for college than pros, just like it should be bigger for HS than College.
