Prince Avenue sent out an email this morning that Jon Richt is the new head coach. The email wished Vandergriff well but made no mention as to where he’s going or a reason for the change. I haven’t seen any announcements as to his leaving other than the email.

I thought he would have left for greener pastures after Brock graduated.

There’s article on the ABH now stating he resigned, but it doesn’t give a definitive reason why. He apparently was not allowed to address the team.

His youngest Audrey graduated in 2024. She is a freshman starter in Softball at Alabama. So he would not have left until she graduated. His wife was also very active in the school.
Jon will do well and as a former Prince family for 10 years (Daughter graduated in 2024 as well) we are thankful for the 5 straight State Championship games in a row (won 3) that Greg brought to our school and building the program to what Jon is inheriting. Wish him nothing but success in the future.

Greg’s resignation was immediate. He’s already gone (as of last week).
The wife is still teaching at PACS.
