I really thought no team would come close, but due to Tim Tebow returning for his senior season, I believe 09 Florida will challenge 2001 Miami as the greatest team of the decade.

Can't wait for October 10!

Next year? There's already some talk about that in reference to this year's team.

quote:

We just finished watching one of the best teams in college football history. Really, it's true.

The 2008 Florida Gators deserve a spot in that hallowed pantheon after capping a 13-1 season with a 24-14 victory over Oklahoma in the BCS title game.

This Florida squad navigated one of the most ambitious schedules of any national champion, playing 11 teams that went to bowls, and toppling the likes of Miami, LSU, Georgia, Florida State, Alabama and finally an Oklahoma team that had the most prolific offense in college football history.

Florida didn't look up to their potential in the NC game. The play seemed a little sloppy to me. However, when you look back at there schedule, I don't think I've ever seen a team play that much serious competition in one season and win with the margin that they won. Based on that I'd say they would have to be at the very top of whatever national championship list you come up with.
