October 1, 2016...
What a game! After all of these years it's still the greatest road win for Tennessee of the last 20 season. It was basically the play that shut up the Dawgs...
To remember why the game is so memorable for Tennessee fans, it's important to have context. Tennessee came into the game riding high and ranked #11 in the entire country, its highest ranking in more than 10 years at the time! Georgia, meanwhile, was looking to find its footing under a first year head coach and coming off of a 45-14 loss to Ole Miss and a 2 point victory over Nicholls State.
Tennessee also entered the game searching for its first victory in Sanford Stadium since 2006. And boy did the Butch Gang deliver... Tennessee may be 1-7 in Sanford Stadium since 2006, but that 1 win in the last 18 year will never be forgotten!
GBO and Vol Nation something something!!!

Why would a UGA fan post this?

Couple random musings about that game:
-We win that game if not for dumbass rico mcgraw. A shithead from memphis that pruitt loved, after our TD he sprinted on the field with no helmet and got us a 15 yard penalty. If not for that UT doens't have the field position they do and the hail mary never happens.
-Eason's bomb is truly one of the prettiest most awe inspiring passes I've ever seen. Just an absolutely beautiful throw that had the most perfect arc, trajectory, etc.
-We had played really crappy football all season entering that game so I dind't hold out much hope but man they played inspired. The young gusy really started to come of age in this one. Also kinda funky seeing Alvin Kamara play second fiddle for UT in this one.
-This was the first game my future wife attended with me. We had the ball late with a few minutes left and turned it over so I figured it was all over. We park next ot the stadium so we made it out of the stadium and to the car and on the road pretty fast. We were on on oconee street heading east towards the loop with the radio on as we hit our bomb. It was one of those "wait...did that really happen?" kinda moments. I immeidatley pulled into the mexican restaurant (don't know what it is now, it's by the shell and across from liquor store) and sprinted inside. The place was absolutley deserted as you'd imagine but there was a little TV on the wall so we got to watch it. We stayed to see the game play out and when the hail mary happened I think I fell to my knees on the floor in front of all the hispanics working there who seemed uninterested in the game. What a wild swing of emotions. Since then, and probbaly forever, I can't ever drive by that building without thinkin about that.

I thought I was posting it on The Rant lol. You're not a fan of backhanded compliment trash talking apparently, which is 100 percent fine.

That play sucked, but Eason's TD pass was probably the most exciting experience I've ever had in Sanford. Walking to tailgate that morning, I found an all access pass lying in the street. I looked up the name on it and tried calling him, but couldn't get an answer. By the fourth quarter I built up enough courage so I left my seat and walked right through the gates and stood in the east endzone. I was probably 20 feet from Ridley when he caught the ball. It was pandemonium with the recruits sitting behind me. There was a TV crew from Knoxville standing next to me and they were just staring in disbelief. I couldn't see the hail mary from my vantage point. All I knew was the two TV guys saw it and sprinted away.

Yep, I was watching the game in disbelief.
It was a case in point of how valuable a tall receiver can be.
You are of course correct, Tennessee should have never been in a position to make the Hail Mary pass but we had players all around their receiver and none of them were in front of him or could leap high enough to stop the completion.
