Major thing we took for granted was how even keel of a program Saban ran.

Outside of 07, he established a program that never had the roller coaster we see tons of other programs have. And the coaster we have experience the past two weeks.

Sure we had let down games, but from my memory it was always the offense that was sleepwalking. Obvious answers are games after the early LSU battles, most of the time we were playing State and those games were ugly. The offense was slow but the D was always there. Yea Manziel got us one year but he was also a Heisman winner.

Every week the past 20 years I’ve watched teams that get a big top 10 win then lose the next week and I was always mind boggled how it happened. It’s because we never experienced that since 08.

We’d handle business against “let down teams”, may have been offensively ugly but we got it done. That’s my main takeaway now with Saban gone. I took for granted all these gimmes.
