Man, this is wild and I am all for it. I had high hopes for JFA as we all did but he seemed to mentally regress through 5 games. He want from shaky but clearly talented to just.. shook. He needs to stay ready, and it would do him some good to watch from the sideline as Hawkins takes the reigns.
Hawkins must be the real deal because as a true freshman, he got the nod over a 5th year senior with TONS of experience. This is crazy, but I love it!
When you look a his HS accolades, wow. Considering all that and the fact his dad played in the league, makes me wonder why he was a high 3/low 4 star.

I was the biggest JA homer. He has so much talent. But he has not adapted to college. Keep in mimd he had all of last year on roster too.
I do wonder if its mostly OC related or JA related? But JA had Lebby last year even though Seth was on staff. And on the surface it seems Seth could have helped him more by taking away RPO option. But at this level you can’t reduce the whole teams playbook for one player rather that player needs to catch up. This is a big league team and you either can do it or fail.
We do have many issues but I’m curious to see if the other moving parts look better with Hawkins and maybe our problems are not as bad. Since JA was slow to make reads that requires more time to hold a defender where Hawkins might decide faster - so that defender who got thru won’t have a chance since ball is gone. Just a small sample but if Hawkins can get some momentum it can make the rest look better and gain confidence (and play harder too).

Agreed and Hawkins was throwing darts on the numbers and hitting guys in stride. Clearly he was seeing the field much better than JA

Mike was raised in the NFL locker room always seen the BEST of the BEST and understood what was the standard. I told everyone they really won't get how good Mike is until he is gets to Norman. You guys don't understand how much time Mike and I have spent building his mental and football IQ. I played with and against some that have and will receive Gold Jackets. Practicing against Favre and Rodgers my first 2yrs spending 40 to 60hrs aweek gameplanning against Brady Vick Manning Rivers BIG Ben Brees Romo and countless others. It's not by accident or a surprise that he is who he is. Mike has been taught to process the game on a different level. He will make some mistakes along the way but the percentages are in his favor. THIS IS GODS WORK... BLESSING

Kyle Stephenson @kstephenson93 This is absolutely spot on. Emerson HS is just 5 minutes from home and I decided to check out a game last season to see him in action and wow. People shouldn’t be surprised, but many people will be. Dude can absolutely sling it with authority. Big things coming to QBU

I think the clean pockets might be MHJ not panicking like JA did. Meaning his internal clock works faster and he doesn’t get fixated on his first read.

Holy cow, I have never seen this chart as bad for anyone in football not just OU
Seth has to answer for this as there were things he could have helped with in play calling. Could have got rid of RPO and let him move the pocket.

So so cool for his parents! Playing HS football last year and in his first start brings them back on the road at Auburn (hard place to win) and was the earliest ever freshman QB to start for OU since WW2. Just an amazing feat

Scrambling for words… I walked in that stadium and said to myself “ Thank you for another day and this opportunity because we could be anywhere else but God has a plan” then I said to myself “I can’t believe God already has this all planned out, I wonder what the outcome will be??”Baby YOU DID THAT! Keep putting him first in all you do!

God definitely has a plan. This Team has hung together. People can keep complaining about the O-line but I keep seeing signs of strength
