It was pure incompetency…they knew it was a none reviewable play, the home plate ump was right on top of the play and made the call…it should have ended there since they could not review it and none of the other umps were in position to make that judgement…

Plate Ump gets blocked 9 times out of 10 in that situation. He can't see everything. He didn't see the position of the catcher's feet. Didn't see the batter bail out ....

Batter has no bearing on a pitched ball. Didn't call time and bail.

Trouble was, when asking the group he got three black stares in return. Reviewable or not .......Birmingham has the tape, It's their tournament ......look and decide ....You've got stands full of people ready to climb the fence .....
