Yesterday Chuck Oliver said that UGA seemed to be using its NIL money primarily to induce recruited players to stay, as opposed to using it to pay incoming transfers. It's like "here's what our WR's get" or "here's what our RB's get" and the player decides to come or not.
I have no idea how accurate this is but it makes a lot of sense to me. I've never understood how players that come in and get a certain amount and bust their arse are ok with some transfer coming in because they were promised a pile of cash. I also don't really understand who actually makes those decisions.
So what does the Rant think: spend your money on the players you have so they don't leave, or use it to fill gaps when a stud goes into the portal? I know you can theoretically do both, but you have to decide which is more important FWIW, I have no idea how Bama does it.
